			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Even the best and most popular Twitter users could be losing followers once in a while. People just click &#8220;unfollow&#8221; with or without explanation. Sometimes though, it&#8217;s easy to explain why they do drop away from your list.</p>
<p>You may have tweeted a highly  controversial or political message that may have turned them off.  If you get emotional about losing followers, you may want to refrain from this not good idea of tweeting highly controversial, usually political, tweets.</p>
<p>Or it could be that Twitter just cleans its house and cancel the bad accounts. Those are from the people who weren&#8217;t really interested in being part of the Twittersphere in the first place.</p>
<p>It could also be they are from the bad accounts: spammers and robot accounts. We should be happy these accounts are get removed although these reflect as reduction in the number of our followers.</p>
<p>And then there are other times when you lose followers simply because the person who&#8217;d been following you comes to realize that you&#8217;re not really supplying him or her with what they need. They had made that &#8220;mistake&#8221; of choosing to follow you because they really didn&#8217;t understanding what you are about.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s better then not to take this personally. You can&#8217;t be just be everything to everyone in the vast Twittersphere.</p>
<p>At other times also, followers may unfollow you for no apparent reason whatsoever.  Even if you&#8217;re handling your twitter account in the best way possible, there are several factors that may result in the drop of your twitter followers.  As these factors are not under anyone&#8217;s control, shedding off a few followers is a  normal happening and is completely unrelated to anything you may have tweeted.</p>

However, don&#8217;t ever make the mistake of abandoning your blog for this new world of <a title="Is Twitter Blogging?" href="http://www.usefulstrategy.com/twittermarketingsecretsblog/126/is-twitter-blogging/" target="_self">micro-blogging that is twitter</a>. There are so many reasons why you should keep your blog up and running. Here, I&#8217;ll just mention three most important points about blogging.</p>
<p>Firstly, you&#8217;re catching a different audience in your blog than in twitter. Your blog has a fine capability of generating search engine traffic that are not possible with your tweets. Besides you may have some RSS subscribers and avid readers who are not interested at all in twitter.  It&#8217;s a grave mistake dumping this readership and search engine traffic by quitting your blog.</p>
<p>Secondly your blog offers a flexibility to handle denser topics that can&#8217;t be afforded within the 140 character limit of your tweets. There are so many statements you can make in your blog posts and so many ideas you can address which aren&#8217;t possible with twitter.</p>
<p>Finally, we&#8217;re still in the learning curve with respect to knowing what an active Twitter user is capable of generating.  In contrast, you know already what blogging can do. And you started blogging for a reason. And your purpose in blogging was based on evidence about what blogging can achieve.</p>
<p>The bottom line is, unless you know something about twitter that the rest of us don&#8217;t, there&#8217;s no reason to assume that twitter will make up for the advantages that blogging offers. Tweet any time or any way you like, but just don&#8217;t give up blogging now!</p>

<p>If you look at the structure, you may say yes. Because  your Twitter URL reads like a tiny blog URL. It catalogs your tweets chronologically and that indeed is the way your twitter homepage is presented to your followers. But apart from that, twitter doesn&#8217;t offer any other similarity to blogging.</p>
<p>The high level of interaction is one distinguishing factor that differentiates twitter. Your tweets are often part of an on-going conversation compared to the free-standing expositions that usually describes blog posts.</p>
<p>Another reason that distinguishes twitter from blogging is the 140 character limit of your tweets. In contrast, this short blog post is already more than 100 words longer. What we usually consider as  blogging can&#8217;t just be done with the 140  character limit.</p>
<p>Lastly, the level and purpose of participation in twitter is different. Your tweets may have the same goal such as increasing sales and branding. Yet your purpose for a single tweet is so much different than your motivation in writing a single blog post.</p>
<p>Yes,  twitter can be described as micro-blogging. But  it still is way much different than a tiny blog. It wouldn&#8217;t be a surprise if twitter may become a household word soon &#8211; and much faster than Google did.</p>
<p>Will this twitter phenomenon last &#8211; that&#8217;s the question that comes up.  Will Twitter become a permanent feature of the Internet landscape? Or like a fad, twitter will just disappear shortly.</p>
<p>Well, this is a question that will have no certain answer. And it&#8217;s also because of the nature of the Internet. The Internet is always evolving and in a way that nobody can really predict its future.</p>
<p>Having said this, there still remains the evidence that Twitter can continue to be a major player in social media for  a length of time to come. Twitter has just only now reached the wider public&#8217;s consciousness.  It has yet to reach the apex of its popularity as suggested by statistical evidence.</p>
